Three year commitment to Haven House Children’s Hospice

Three year commitment to Haven House Children’s Hospice

Matchroom Charitable Foundation has supported Haven House Children’s Hospice since 2016 and their invaluable contribution has made an enormous difference to the care that the hospice provides to seriously ill children and their families.

In 2022, the Foundation pledged £50,000 per year for the next three years to support its Future of Nursing project. The continued support from Matchroom has enabled the hospice to provide a more specialist nursing service allowing for more children and families to benefit. This included the appointment of two multi-disciplinary nurses, jointly employed by Haven House and the NHS, as well as increasing our capacity to deliver specialist children’s palliative care nursing education to our nurses and external professionals.

The aim was to enable Haven House to provide a sustainable model of care to protect future services and ensure that they remain at the forefront of paediatric palliative care in the long-term. The expansion of the nursing team enabled them to develop a truly integrated model of care that can support families from diagnosis to death, whilst celebrating every single moment of their child’s life.

Haven House is delighted to have Matchroom Charitable Foundation as an integral part of their hospice.

“We are most grateful to the Trustees of Matchroom Sport Foundation for your continued, fantastic commitment, and to Barry who is a much-valued supporter and friend of Haven House. This long-term support has enabled us to care for more seriously ill babies, children and young people and their siblings through our project ‘The Future of Nursing’. Thank you for this unwavering support.”
