The Foundation have been long standing supporters of Keen’s work, helping fund the KEEN Club sessions across London for eight years. The Foundation pledged a £10,000 annual donation for the next three years which will be able to help support hundreds of children with additional needs and offer the opportunity for them to access sports and games in a supported, accessible environment with 1:1 support.
The funds will be used to support the growth of Keen’s volunteer services, helping fund the recruitment and training of their new Volunteer Manager and the subsequent investment in volunteer training.
With this donation, Keen have been able to recruit and train enough volunteers to support their early years offering (called Rising Stars) to move from once a month, to weekly sessions. Being able to provide this regular service means they can give more families with preschool children the support and signposting they need to give their children the best start.
Keen London’s vision is that every child has the chance to enjoy sports and activities, ensuring none are left behind due to disability. Annually, KEEN London delivers thousands of one-to-one supported sessions to children with additional needs, with 4,172 sessions conducted in the past year alone.. keenlondon.org
