Matchroom Foundation provides support for Blesma

The Matchroom Charitable Foundation most recently supported Blesma, The Limbless Veterans in November 2025 with a £25,000 donation.

Blesma currently support 2,600 active Blesma Members, including 122 living across Essex, where both the charity and Matchroom are based.

This donation has helped a network of Blesma Support and Outreach Officers continue to provide frontline help and support to Blesma Members (limbless and injured veterans and their widows) in their homes and communities nationwide.

This includes ongoing contact – from home visits, telephone calls, emails, social media messaging – which can be a lifeline to veterans and families in need. Blesma Officers help veterans access necessary mobility aids, stair lifts and home and garden adaptations to ensure they can continue to live independently at home.

The donation has also supported their regional activities programme helping bring veterans and their families together at Christmas lunches, brunches, photography days, adaptive sports and activities like indoor skiing, rock climbing and golf and much more.

“Thank you so much to the Matchroom Charitable Foundation for their generous support over the years. Your funding has ensured our limbless and injured veterans receive the support they need to combat the life-long challenges of limb loss and injury. This includes practical help to receive mobility aids and adaptative equipment; as well as opportunities to take part in activities that build confidence and ease isolation.” – Julia Ammon, Trusts Fundraising Manager.
