Matchroom Charitable Foundation Keen to make a difference to small charities

The Foundation were delighted to give a commitment to support KEEN London for the next three years with £5,000 annual donations to continue their services to disabled young people in the capital

KEEN London is a small charity that runs free sports and recreation sessions for children and young adults with learning, behavioural and physical disabilities. Established in 2002 by a handful of volunteers, their mission is to give children with special needs the chance to enjoy the activities from which they are often excluded. Activities include regular weekend sports sessions, holiday sessions, new experiences and residential trips. Their sessions have a huge impact on disabled children and young people by improving physical activity levels, social interaction, communication skills, confidence, behaviour and independence.

Funding from Matchroom Foundation allows KEEN London to comfortably plan for the future knowing they can continue their much needed sessions as free of charge to all the families they support; providing safe and high quality equipment for sports and play and valuable respite to parents.

‘There is no any other charities like Keen London offering 1:1 support in all the sessions in London. My son with complex needs is not able to enjoy universal social activities and also puts himself at risk. He enjoyed very much and participated in all the activities with his coach’s motivation. He said he wants to go there again”. KEEN parent

With a passion for sport, Matchroom Foundation is excited to support the opportunities for children to get the physical and mental benefit from sport that KEEN are providing, and wish them success as they look to expand to other areas in London and increase their range of services.
