The foundation is proud to be part of a new children’s Hospital with a £300,000 donation

Matchroom Charitable Foundation donates a total of £300,000 over three years to Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust in support of the Cambridge Children’s Hospital, as part of a wider goal to enhance healthcare for the younger generation.

ACT, as one of three fundraising partners supporting the Cambridge Children’s Hospital Campaign, is committed to helping raise the £100 million in philanthropic funds that will ensure the 1.5 million children of the East of England have access to the best possible treatment and care. This will be achieved with a new world-leading hospital.

The support of the Matchroom Charitable Foundation is crucial in the development of Cambridge Children’s Hospital, and specifically for the development of rehabilitation facilities. The new hospital will provide a whole new way of caring for children and young people. Physical and mental health expertise will be brought together under one roof, working in unison to organise treatment that supports everything a child may be going through — whether that’s visible or not.

Through rehabilitation facilities, dedicated therapy spaces will be provided for children, making it easier to provide specific, tailored therapies in calm, age-appropriate environments. This will ensure that children can be physically active, supporting them in their recovery, whilst also building self-confidence and improving their mental health.

“We are extremely grateful for the support of the Matchroom Charitable Foundation. It will play a vital role in the development of Cambridge Children’s Hospital and our vision to deliver a whole new way of caring for children and young people. It will have a significant and positive impact on the thousands of children treated by the hospital each year, whilst also providing a blueprint for the future of children’s healthcare.” Shelly Thake, Chief Executive, Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust.
