A £20,000 donation to Sport4Life has enabled more sports sessions and mentorying to young people in the Birmingham area.
Sport4life provide the opportunity for young people (aged 11 to 29) to prepare for and move into sustained education, employment, or training by improving their employability and key life skills, through their sports-themed personal development services. The services given are designed to bring out the best in young people by providing them with high-quality sessions, mentoring, and guidance.
The £20,000 grant has funded free football sessions at Hodge Hill College and basketball sessions at Hadley Stadium in Sandwell, alongside dedicated one-to-one mentoring for disadvantaged young people aged 11-17. The sessions focus on building life skills, improving emotional wellbeing, and supporting educational engagement, all delivered free to access in two of the West Midlands’ most deprived communities.
Tom Clarke-Forrest MBE, Founder and CEO, Sport 4 Life UK said “Thanks to the Matchroom Charitable Foundation’s generous donation, Sport 4 Life UK has been able to deliver free football and basketball sessions and dedicated mentoring to disadvantaged young people in Birmingham and Sandwell. This funding has directly supported better mental health, stronger life skills and real pathways into education, employment or training. We’re proud to have Matchroom as a partner in that mission.”
