A £15,000 donation has been made to the Endeavour Co-operative Academy in Brentwood, to go directly to the therapeutic interventions they offer to their learners for the benefit of their physical and mental wellbeing. The funds were distributed amongst various activites including yoga sessions, Trailnet Cycling at Thorndon Park and boxing fitness classes with KV Fit, as well as securing therapy sessions through Kids Inspire.
The Endeavour Co-operative Academy is a special needs school for learners with Moderate Learning Difficulties and Complex Needs aged between 5 and 19.
Their philosophy is Explore, Grow, Believe and Succeed and they strive to offer a broad and balanced curriculum based on Life Skills which promotes independence in a safe, secure, happy learning environment.
Head Teacher, Mrs Antonella Crudgington said of the donation…
“As the headteacher of Endeavour Co-operative Academy, I would like to thank Matchroom for the kind donation towards therapies at our school. Our school is for learners with special needs, providing a range of therapies including boxfit, yoga, and counselling, which is vital to support the mental health and emotional needs of our learners who often struggle with emotional regulation and associated behaviours. Also, our school is in the middle of a complete rebuild of our site. Breakout spaces are few and far between. This has caused extra stress for our learners, but with Matchroom’s support, we have added extra therapy sessions which will help individual learners until we are finally in our new school.”
