Matchroom Foundation’s £10,000 donation has supported sailing sessions and equipment for the local sailing charity – EAST.
The East Anglian Sailing Trust is a registered charity providing regular sailing sessions for disabled and disadvantaged adults and children throughout the summer. EAST currently provides two weekend cruises and a week long, live aboard sailing cruise where blind and partially sighted sailors from all over the country can enjoy gaining sailing experience alongside an enjoyable social programme.
Tomus Nugent, head of fundraising said “This wonderful donation to East Anglian Sailing Trust (EAST) is most welcomed at a time when we are reviewing our future operational and equipment requirements such as lifejackets, radios etc.
During their sailing season, EAST provides weekly sailing opportunities for disabled adults, disabled children and their carers from our facilities based at Suffolk Yacht Harbour.
The continued delivery of these very popular sailing sessions is greatly enjoyed by our sailors, carers and volunteers alike, all made possible by donations from great organisations like Matchroom Sport Foundation.”
