Refuge

Refuge’s services support thousands of women and their children, helping them to overcome the physical, emotional, financial, and logistical impacts of abuse and rebuild their lives.

In 1971, Refuge opened it’s first refuge providing safe, temporary accommodation for women and children escaping domestic abuse. Refuge will never turn a woman away but communal refuges can’t accommodate every woman, for example if you have teenage sons, pets or a range of other needs that can’t be met in a shared living space. Persimmon Homes are leading the build of two semi-detached family homes that offer all the emotional and practical support of a shared refuge, but with its own front door.
