The Matchroom Foundation donated £25,000 to Paces – a leading specialist centre for children with Cerebral Palsy and other motor disorders.
They support children and adults living with Neurological Conditions such as Cerebral Palsy, MS, Stroke, Parkinsons and other brain injury. At Paces, they use a Hungarian method of support known as Conductive Education.
Paces was established in the 1990s by a small group of parents who recognised the benefits of Conductive Education for their children with cerebral palsy.
They use this method to teach our children how to walk, talk, sit, stand and gain as much independence as possible all in an environment they can have fun, build friendships and feel part of an incredible community.
They use the same method of support at their Adult Centre to ensure our adults maintain functionality and can continue to live as independently as possible.
A growing number of families have since taken advantage of Paces’ unique way of working, enabling their children to reap great benefits from their integrated approach, which focuses on personal goals and aspirations.
The support from Matchroom will be used to ensure they can continue to deliver life-changing support, reach more children and adults that could benefit from the support Paces offers and continue to be at the forefront when it comes to Conductive Education and the work that goes into it.
“We have been absolutely blown away by the support we have received from Matchroom over the last couple of years. We had the pleasure of showing Jason Ferguson around our old school in High Green before lockdown and once again got to welcome Jason to our brand new home earlier this year. It was lovely to be able to show Jason how far Paces has managed to come and the journey we have been on, none of which would have been possible without incredible people such as the Matchroom team. Jason and the team will always hold a special place amongst the Paces family and we cant wait to share the next phase of our journey with them.”
