Matchroom Charitable Foundation is delighted to make a £35,000 donation to Lifelites for assistive play technology at 4 children’s palliative care services.
For nearly 25 years, Lifelites have provided cutting-edge technology, training, and ongoing technical support free of charge to children’s hospices and palliative care services in Britain and Ireland, now impacting over 13,500 children and their families annually. Despite advances in clinical care, many children we support are unlikely to recover and may live short, complicated lives. By providing innovative sensory and assistive technology, we empower children and young people to overcome barriers they experience because of their conditions. Our mission is simple and crucial: to help these children live happy childhoods, for as long as possible, even into their last days. Working in partnership with children’s palliative care services, Lifelites supports some of the most medically complex and vulnerable children and young people in Britain and Ireland.
Lifelites identified an urgent need to provide the latest, customised play technology packages for 4 children’s palliative care services: St Oswald’s Hospice, Newcastle, East Anglia Children’s Hospice, Norfolk, Charlton Farm, Somerset, and Chestnut Tree House, West Sussex. Matchroom’s donation contributed to the cost of delivering these projects which includes funds for equipment, installation, bespoke training and ongoing technical support. This project will provide access to the latest technology for over 700 children with life-limiting conditions per year.
