£30,000 donated to Newlife to provide vital specialist equipment

£30,000 donated to Newlife to provide vital specialist equipment

Newlife is the leading charity provider of specialist equipment for children with disabilities or terminal illness across the UK, supporting families to get the equipment they need such as wheelchairs, specialist beds, specialist car seats, walking and standing frames and communication aids. They run an Equipment Grant Service, an equipment loan scheme, provide specialist sensory toys and have a nurse-led helpline to provide support to families.

The £30,000 grant from The Matchroom Sport Charitable Foundation will support the charity’s Equipment Grant Service, which provides specialist items for children and young people that is often not available on the NHS and that the family would not be able to afford otherwise.

Lucy Rice, Trusts and Partnerships Fundraiser said: “We’re very grateful to The Matchroom Charitable Foundation for their generous grant which will allow us to provide specialist equipment to disabled children and their families across the UK. Whether it’s a wheelchair or a car seat to help them get around, a communication aid or some other vital piece of equipment, our work makes a real difference to disabled children’s quality of life.”
