A further £50,000 has been donated to St Francis Hospice, to fund a Hospice at Home nurse for a year.
St Francis Hospice are a charity based in Romford, providing free of charge services to those who need end of life care. Their services include:
- An 18-bed ward: supporting people with specialist needs who require 24/7 care.
- Hospice at Home: providing quality end of life care in people’s own homes – where 4 out of 5 people prefer to be cared for.
- Specialist Community and Crisis Support service: providing symptom control for those dealing with life-limiting illnesses in the community.
- Pemberton Place: A day unit which provides a setting for a range of social activities, exercise groups, wellbeing and therapeutic services and outpatient appointments.
- A range of Support Services: to include a Bereavement Service for adults and children, Pastoral Care, and a Family Support service offering counselling, advice, and advocacy.
